Soothing Winds to the Cascading Waters
"Nature's Calling" at CSU Long Beach is a public space designed by Chris McCormick and Joon Lee to connect the campus community with nature. The courtyard features symbolic structures—glass wind tubes and stone pillars—that reflect light and wind, promoting unity and growth. The space encourages interaction, sustainability, and serves as a venue for daily use and events. The wind tubes follow a mathematical formula to determine their length based on frequency and wind speed.

Brand Strategy
Beats to Brand
The brand strategy for an emerging DJ focuses on building a unique musical identity, cultivating an authentic connection with the audience, and creating a strong visual and digital presence. This includes defining a signature sound or genre blend that sets the DJ apart, developing a compelling backstory and persona, and maintaining consistent branding across platforms—logos, social media, visuals, and live shows. Strategic collaborations, engaging content, and a focus on community (both online and local scenes) help build credibility and momentum. The goal is to position the DJ not just as a performer, but as a cultural tastemaker and experience creator.
UX/UI Research
The Human Story
We focused on developing a prototype that could be traced back to National Geographic's mission and strategic aims. We propose to create a web-based platform that serves as an archive of primary sources to tell the human story. The platform will create a virtual space to allow users to share their oral history, family heirlooms, and stories. By sharing their personal artifacts and primary sources of personal history, users will have the ability to see how their personal history connects with that of others. These connections will allow users to understand how their personal story fits into a more comprehensive, broad view of history.
The web-based platform will have the capability to sort peoples' contributions in order to better match the connections and chronological order of these items and stories. The goal of this living archive is to continue to expand the human story and encourage connectivity amongst different communities.

Prototyping is the bridge between ideation and reality—a hands-on process of turning abstract concepts into tangible forms. It starts with brainstorming and sketching out ideas, then evolves through iterations of building, testing, and refining. Whether it’s a rough sketch, digital mockup, or physical model, each prototype helps explore functionality, gather feedback, and uncover new possibilities. The goal is not perfection, but progress—quickly learning what works, what doesn’t, and how to shape the final product into something impactful and real.
